You are probably aware that the Accounting Professional & Ethical Standards Board (APES) have released a revised APES 225 Valuation Service Standard.
The revised standard allows for different types of valuation services that you can provide. They are:
- A Valuation Engagement,
- Limited Scope Valuation Engagement, and
- Calculation Engagement.
To cater for the revised professional standards outlined in the APES 225 Valuation Services, we have created a new Terms of Engagement, Checklist, Comprehensive Report, Workpapers and supporting Procedure for you to use.
If when using these tools for the first time you still feel uncertainty about doing Business Valuations, we recommend outsourcing this work to another Accountant. We’ve done it from time to time in the past and we’d rather give A-class valuations anf be confident in the work, than not be confident and give bad valuations. Leave that to other Accountants to provide.

Be sure to watch the ‘Why Is It Important’ video found in this module in your Intranet, as Timothy Munro recommends a great book to read that gives a practical guide to doing great Business Valuations!
Together with the use of the ChangeGPS Business Valuation module we’re sure you’ll be giving your clients A-Class Business Valuations in no time!
